Four Juvenile Accused Escape Remand Home in Nagpur; One Detained in Pune

रिमांड होम की खिड़की तोड़कर चार नाबालिग फरारNagpur: Four juvenile accused escaped from a remand home at Patankar Chowk, within the jurisdiction of the Kapil Nagar police station, after breaking a window on Saturday night. One of those who fled is reportedly accused in a murder case that took place in Kamthi around two months ago. The Kapil Nagar police immediately launched a search operation after receiving information about the incident. Police managed to detain one of the accused in Pune, while the search for the other three continues.

According to police, the remand home housed juvenile accused involved in various cases registered at the Sadar and Hudkeshwar police stations, including the Kamthi murder case. A few days ago, one of the accused who escaped had been detained by Pune police in a case involving possession of a pistol. He was subsequently brought to the remand home in Nagpur.

On Saturday night, the four juveniles allegedly plotted their escape from the remand home. They pretended that they needed to use the toilet. After entering the washroom, they broke a window and escaped through it, fleeing in different directions.

As soon as the incident came to light, the Kapil Nagar police launched an investigation. During the investigation, police received information that one of the accused was in Pune. A police team was sent to Pune, where the accused was detained. Search operations are being conducted at various locations to trace the remaining three absconding accused.

Kapil Nagar police station inspector Satish Aade confirmed that one of the accused had been detained in Pune.
