Nagpur: The four goons, who had murdered a youth when he tried to intervene in their brawl, were arrested by Pratap Nagar cops. The sensational killing had taken place in busy Khamla area of the city on Monday night.
The deadly trouble started for the deceased Chetan Raju Adagale (27), resident of Plot No. 25, Khamla Sindhi Colony, around 10.30 pm on Monday when tried to intervene in a fracas the four accused were indulging in. The accused Akash Anil Manare (23) of Rahul Nagar, Somalwada, Suraj Yelgun Gaekwad (23) of Kaikadi Nagar, Sonegaon, Harshal Sudhakar Hiwale (19) of Rahul Nagar, Somalwada, and Mangesh Arun Khedkar (22) of Sitanagar, Wardha Road, were fighting and abusing each other over an issue.
The deceased Chetan who was watching the brawl tried to intervene by asking them as to why they are fighting and abusing each other. However, Chetan’s casual question to the four accused proved fatal for him. Enraged by the intervention, the foursome accosted Chetan near Konika Classic Bar in Khamla and started quarrelling with him.

Suddenly, two of the accused Mangesh and Harshal caught hold of Chetan and the two others Suraj and Akash went on stabbing spree and thus inflicted deep injuries on Chetan’s stomach, loin, head and other parts of his body. A profusely bleeding Chetan collapsed and died on the spot.
Pratap Nagar PSI Kuthe, based on a complaint lodged by Pawan Arun Sonavane (19), booked the four assailants under Sections 302, 34 of IPC and mounted a hunt to nab them. Later, the four accused were arrested.
