Nagpur: In yet another house breaking theft in Hudkeshwar area, a gang of thieves burgled foreign currency and gold ornaments collectively worth Rs 7.88 lakh from the residence of Ujwal Narendra Pande at Plot No 19, Mahalaxmi Nagar No 2, on Manewada Road in the small hours of Friday.
Pande (35) and his family members were out of station. Grabbing the opportunity, burglars sneaked into the house after breaking open the door lock with a crowbar. They then entered the bedroom and made away with US dollars, Sri Lankan rupees, French Francs, Euro coins and gold ornaments worth Rs 7.88 lakh from an almirah.
Following Pande’s complaint, Hudkeshwar Police registered a case under Sections 454, 457, 380, 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
Youth arrested for theft at godown in Ganeshpeth
Ganeshpeth Police arrested a youth who had stolen power tool machines, welding machines, blowers, and cutter blades worth Rs two lakh from a godown. Cops recovered all the stolen machine tools from his possession.
The accused, Vicky Prakash Gathibandhe (25) is a resident of Binaki Mangalwari, near Kalbhairav Temple, Yashodhara Nagar. Vicky was working at a shop — R L Machine Tools — on Central Avenue. Shop owner Shankar Mirchand Bhagwani (52) also has a godown at Nannumal Chowk, Bajeriya Chowk. Between March 18 and April 2, Vicky stole the power tools, welding machines and cutters from the godown.
Following a complaint lodged by Bhagwani, a resident of 302, Kasturi Neha Apartment, Byramji Town, a case under Sections 381, 411 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code was registered at Ganeshpeth Police. Cops investigated the case and took Vicky into custody. Police recovered the stolen power tool machines. Vicky’s accomplices Rahul Wakhede and Akash Krishna Bawne also were allegedly involved in the case. The arrest and recovery were made by Senior PI Macchindra Pandit, PI S A Gaikar, PSI Malhari Doiphode and others.
