Nagpur: Acting on a tip-off, the Social Security Wing of Crime Branch on Tuesday busted a high-profile sex racket being operated in the garb of beauty salon at a posh apartment in Giripeth. The mastermind of the flesh trade has been arrested and a victim woman has been rescued by cops.
The arrested accused has been identified as Mohd Shamim Abdul Karim Ansari (51), resident of Plot No. 19, Pushkar Society, Jaffernagar.
The Crime Branch received secret inputs that the accused Mohd Shamim has been running a sex racket from his beauty parlour named Shammi’s Hair Beauty Professional Salon and Academy situated at L-1, Jagat Millenium Apartment, Giripeth. Shammi used to call needy women and forced them into flesh trade by luring them with ‘handsome’ money. The accused would make available place at his beauty parlour for the sex racket.
Acting on the tip-off, a team of Social Security Wing of the Crime Branch raided the apartment and rescued a victim woman from the brothel.
An offence in this regard was registered with Sitabuldi police. The accused Mohd Shamim Abdul Karim Ansari was booked under Sections 3, 4, 5, 7 of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act 1956 and placed under arrest.
