Five goons with swords enter marriage pandal, attack father of bride

Nagpur: A marriage ceremony turned bloody when a group of five miscreants went on rampage and attacked father of bride with swards and also damaged properties. The incident occurred in Tehsil area on Monday. Five accused have been booked.

According to police, marriage ceremony of daughter of Munnalal Patel (68), resident of Rambhaji Road, opposite Bagal Gymanisium, was going on. At the same time, the group of five accused miscreants namely Sonu Verma, Satish Gaur, Deepak Gaur, Kailash Gaur and Sonu Gaur entered into the pandal with swords. The accused asked Munnalal Patel why he is instigating the lottery ticket shop owner against them. As the wordy duel was on, the accused suddenly attacked Munnalal with swords and injured him.

The five accused also damaged chairs and other material worth Rs 3000 and later fled the scene. Upon informed about the incident, a team from Tehsil Police Station led by Lady PSI V D Wadaskar reached the spot and started investigation into the matter.

Cops have booked the group of five accused under relevant sections of IPC and mounted a search to nab them.
