Five dreaded Naxals surrender in Gadchiroli

Nagpur: Five dreaded Naxals who were collectively carrying a reward of Rs 14 lakhs on their heads have surrendered, police said today.

The five dreaded Naxals include Dinesh Shantaram Maku Madavi (25 years), Mangesh Raju Yera Madavi (24 years), Savita Tumreti (21 years), all carrying a reward of Rs 2 lakhs on their heads, as well as Vasant Vadde (23 years) and Ravi Gota (25 years), both carrying a reward of Rs 4 lakhs, surrendered before Gadchiroli Police yesterday, an official release issued here by police said.

Superintendent of Police Gadchiroli Avinash Deshmukh said more Naxals may surrender in near future.
A total of 44 Naxalites have surrendered this year. All the five surrendered rebels were involved in a number of Naxal-related crimes, police encounter and arson, the release added.
