Nagpur: The Director General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has decided to install busts of its brave personnel from Vidarbha who attained martyrdom for nation. Statue of eight martyred personnel from Vidarbha including Nagpur’s Devi Das will be installed at their respective schools on Friday (January 6) as a mark of respect as well as to motivate the youths of India.
Shaheed Devi Das, of the 42 Bn of CRPF, in the 90s, was deployed in J&K for curbing terrorist activities. On the January 16, 1991, 42 Bn of CRPF received information that some terrorists were hiding inside the Taj Hotel at Lal Bagh. A party of 42 Bn immediately rushed to the hotel. Shaheed Ct Devi Das was part of this team. The terrorists exploded a bomb that was planted in the hotel. In the blast, Shaheed Ct Devi Das sustained grievous injuries and attained martyrdom.
Born on January 17, 1956, Shaheed Devi Das was resident of village Surendragarh, Seminary Hills, Dist.-Nagpur.
Busts of following martyred personnel of CRPF will be installed at their respective schools as follows:

- Shaheed CT/GD Kore Chandrashekhar Sureshrao at Rasu Bidkar Art, Commerce and Science College, Hinganghat, District Wardha. Chief Guest will be Manoj Dhyani, Commandant.
- Shaheed RT/GD Nitin S Puttewa at Bharat Vidyalaya, Hinganghat, District Wardha. Chief Guest will be Manoj Dhyani, Commandant.
- Shaheed SI/GD Hetram Isram Katre at Shaheed Janya Tanya Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya, Gondia. Chief Guest will be Subodh Kumar, Asstt. Commandant.
- Shaheed CT/GD Lakhan Lal at Rashtriya Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Dongargaon, Gondia. Chief Guest will be Subodh Kumar, Asstt. Commandant.
- Shaheed CT/GD Jyotisingh Chindhu Nagpure, at Salekasa High School and Junior College, Gondia. Chief Guest will be Miss Ankita, Asstt. Commandant.
- Shaheed CT/GD N J Sapate at Karmaveer Vidyalaya, Warora, District Chandrapur. Chief Guest will be Mohandas Khobragade, Commandant.
- Shaheed CT/GD Ajit Madho Das at Ashok Samrat High School, Chicpalli, Chandrapur. Chief Guest will be Seema Tolia, Commandant.
