
Nagpur: The ambitious “New Nagpur” project envisioned by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has taken a major step forward, with the 1,710-acre master plan now officially unveiled. The smart city development will come up in Godhani and Ladgaon villages of Hingna tehsil and will be jointly developed by the Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA), NBCC, and HUDCO.
Planned as Central India’s Global Capability Hub, New Nagpur aims to blend modern urban living, commercial growth, and environmental sustainability into one integrated city.

International Business and Finance Centre at the Core
The city is being developed as an International Business & Finance Centre (IBFC). The total project cost is estimated at ₹6,500 crore, including ₹3,000 crore for land acquisition and ₹3,500 crore for infrastructure development. HUDCO has committed funding support of up to ₹11,300 crore, covering the IBFC and the Third Outer Ring Road. NMRDA will act as the implementing agency, while NBCC will serve as the project consultant.
