VSPM Dental College and Research Centre, Nagpur, being one of the premier institutes of Central India in providing quality Dental Education, added one more feather to its cap by conducting the first ever Webinar CDE programme by the Department of Prosthodontics and Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.
The webinar was telecasted live in 10 dental colleges all over the country from Nagpur, Wardha, Nashik, Bhilai, Bhopal, Indore, Rajnandgaon and Vadodara, and about 500 delegates participated in the interactive seminar.
The full day webinar consisted of the morning session by the Department of Oral and maxillofacial Pathology, where a galaxy of speakers like the eminent Pathologist from Nagpur, Dr. R. Ravi, Dr. Thakkar, Gen. Microbiologist, Dr. Kamayani Deshpande, MD Pathology and Dr. Anju Mundhada, MD Pathology, talked on the importance of oral cytology and biopsy, immunohistochemistry in oral pathology and role of oral microflora and its significance in health and disease.
The Department of Prosthodontics conducted the afternoon session where teaching staff of the department namely Dr. Sham Gundawar, Dr. Saee Deshmukh, Dr. Tushar Mowade and Dr. Rajlakshmi Banerjee presented ‘Surveying and designing for Removable Partial Denture’.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Vinay Hazare, Dean, GDC and Hospital, congratulated Dr. Usha Radke, Dean, VSPM’S DCRC, Dr. Alka Dive, Organizing chairman and Dr. Sham Gundawar, Organizing Secretary for successfully conducting the webinar. Dr. Ram Thombre, Prof and HOD, Department of Prosthodontics, was the Guest of Honour and the moderator for the webinar. Dr. Usha Radke, Dean, VSPM’S DCRC, expressed her happiness as the institution successfully conducted the webinar which was done for the first time in Central India by any dental college and thanked the VSPMAHE management for the support and cooperation provided to make the webinar a success.
On the occasion, the electronic version of the college magazine ‘Amalgam’ was launched and Dr. Ramakrishna Shenoi, Vice Dean, expressed his satisfaction for bringing out the ‘e-Amalgam’ which would save a lot of money of printing and publication, while also being eco- friendly.
The staff members of Department of Oral Pathology namely, Dr. Shubhangi Khandekar, Dr. Hema Suryavanshi, Dr. Ashish Bodhade, Dr. Aparna Sharma, Dr. Samantha Thakur, Dr. Prajakta Zade, Dr. Akshay Dhoble, Dr. Rohit Moharil and Dr. Neena Dongre and the Department of Prosthodontics, namely, Dr. Neelam Pande, Dr. Saee Deshmukh, Dr.Tushar Mowade, Dr. Rajlakshmi Banerjee, Dr. Dipti Lambade, Dr. Anuj Chandak, Dr. Jayashree Joshi, Dr. Anita Kahar and Dr. Jaishree chahande worked hard for the smooth conduction of the programme. Dr. Dipti Lambade was the compere for the programme and Dr. Neelam Pande proposed the vote of thanks.
