Firing at Geetanjali Square: Tehsil cops nab four accused, seize car

Nagpur: Tehsil Police arrested four goons for attempting to kill history-sheeter Mohsin Ahmed alias Mohsin Akola in front of Geetanjali Talkies and recovered the firearm used by them for committing the crime. Cops also seized a Maruti car from their possession.

The accused have been identified as Mohammad Mushfique Khan alias Mussa Mohammad Shakeel (27), a resident of Naka No 2, Raza Town, Kamptee, Kamran Nakib alias Kammu Ashpak Ahmed (24), a resident of Mominpura, Sayyed Imran alias Immu Sayyed Jamil (25), a resident of Timki, Teenkhamba and Altaf Mirza Iqbal Baig Mirza (35), a resident of Takia, Diwanshah.

The accused had an enmity with Mohsin Ahmed and hatched a plan to eliminate him.

In the small hours on August 9, they came near Geetanjali Talkies. Prime accused Mohammad Mushfique took out a pistol and shot at Mohsin. The bullet pierced through Mohsin’s thigh. A resident of G-5, Amar Heritage, Jafar Nagar, Mohsin was rushed to Mayo Hospital. Cops first nabbed Mohammad

The arrests were made by Senior PI Jayesh Bhandarkar, API Sandeep Bagul, PSI Swapnil Wagh, ASI Sanjay Dubey and others under the supervision of Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar, Additional CP (North Region) Navinchandra Reddy, DCP (Zone-III) Rohit Matani and ACP (Kotwali Division) Sanjay Surve.
