FIR lodged against KCC Ltd for damaging water pipeline

Nagpur: Thousands of residents from areas of Raj Nagar, Vijay Nagar, Chhaoni, Bairamji Town, Mecosabag Christian colony and New Colony under Mangalwari zone, often wonder why there are so much interruptions in water supply especially in their areas ?. Further why many times after shutdown they receive muddy water at their taps?.

The answer is damages to main underground pipeline at various locations by KCC Ltd which force NMC-OCW to take emergency shutdown and stop water supply of these particular areas.

It must be mentioned here, On Saturday (Jan 27, 2018) too KCC Builcon Pvt Ltd damaged underground pipeline near Acharaj Towers square, Sadar at 2.30 pm resulting in emergency shutdown and no water supply in above mentioned areas.

As per records almost 27 times KCC Buildcon Pvt Ltd had damaged NMC-OCW pipelines of various dia from 150 mm to 300 mm dia and at various locations on different days. Because of such damages almost 23 Million Litter potable water gone waste on road , experts in water supply industry informed.

However, after Saturday (April 27, 2018) damage, initiating a stern action OCW has lodged an FIR against KCC Ltd at Sadar police station under section 427 of IPC for damaging pipeline. (Refer attached FIR)


Because of damage by KCC once again residents of Raj agar, Vijay nagger, Chione, Bai Ramji town, Mecosabagh Christian colony and new colony were forced to face No Water Supply on Saturday especially. In last many days case of receiving muddy water also occurred from these areas, zonal head of Mangalwari informed.
