Filmfare Awards 2015: ‘Queen’ wins best film, Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut won top honours

The Bollywood comic drama Queen swept the 60th Filmfare Awards yesterday, winning awards in as many as six categories, fetching Vikas Bahl the award for the Best Director and Kangana Ranaut the Best Actress honour.

The runner-up was Vishal Bhardwaj’s tragic Shakespearean drama Haider which won awards in five categories – including Best Actor for Shahid Kapoor, Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Tabu and Best Actor in Supporting role for Kay Kay Menon.

The lifetime achievement award was given to veteran actress Kamini Kaushal for her outstanding contribution to Indian cinema.

Young star Alia Bhatt bagged the best actress (Critics) trophy for Highway and Sanjay Mishra won the best actor (Critics) for his outstanding performance in Ankhon Dekhi, which also earned director-writer Rajat Kapoor the best story gong.

Kriti Sanon won best debut female award for Heropanti, while Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan won the best debut male award for Khoobsurat.
