260 power pilferers in Kamptee and Kanhan areas have been identified
Penalty to the tune of Rs. 40:00 lacks recovered and
25 FIRs registered against the errant consumers
Nagpur: Exceptional performance by Feeder Manager have successfully created panic amongst the power pilferers in Kamptee and Kanhan area under Nagpur district which will result in reduction of energy losses.
To control the over rising electricity losses in this part of Nagpur, MSEDCL have appointed M/s Anjani Logistics, Nagpur, which have widespread experience in power sector. They have been allotted Kamptee 1, Kamptee 2, Modi, Neri and Kanhan feeders, on which they have started checking consumers’ electric connections, meters.
They have also been testing and replacing non-functional and faulty meters and are also encouraging the consumers to pay the unpaid electricity bills. This has resulted in resolution of consumer grievances.
The emphasis of Feeder Manager Scheme is to reduce the electricity losses. Since the start of work from May 2, 2016, M/s Anjani Logistics have successfully detected and booked around 260 power pilferers in Kamptee and Kanhan areas and have recovered penalty to the tune of Rs. 40:00 lacks and 25 FIRs have been registered against the errant consumers.
176 meters in Kamptee and 97 meters in Kanhan areas have been replaced and testing of consumers’ meters is in full swing. Many hooks have been removed In Ramnagar and Kamgar Nagar areas and strong actions have been proposed on these consumers as per the provision of law.
Feeder Manager have warned that the persons indulging in power-meter tampering or encouraging consumers for power thefts will also not be spared and some of them are on their vigil. As per new circular of MSEDCL, the persons indulging in meter tampering or involved in carrying out illegal works with reference to electric connections will also be subjected to rigorous punishments along with the errant consumers.
This scheme is being carrying out under the guidance of Chief Engineer Nagpur Zone Prasad Reshme, Superintending Engineer Nagpur Rural Circle Rajendra Pawar, Executive Engineer Division No 1 Sachin Talewar, Deputy Executive Engineer Kamptee Dilip Madne, Deputy Executive Engineer Kanhan Sachin Kambale under the supervision of Assistant Engineers Pralhad Omkar, S. D. Bagde, P. N. Khopde, Prafull Deshpande with the support of field staff of MSEDCL. Jayant Khandal of Anjani Logistics is coordinating the day-to-day activities.
Mahendra Jichkar of Anjani Logistics lauded the work of their team along with MSEDCL staff, as all of them are being working on very risky conditions for National Cause. He was confident of success of the scheme and has expressed his gratitude towards MSEDCL authorities and staff for their kind support and guidance.
