Father-son duo try to murder man, his father over petty issue in Mankapur

Nagpur: Mankapur police have arrested a father-son duo for attempt to murder a man and his father over a trivial matter of sweeping. The incident occurred on Friday evening.

A resident of Plot No. 18/19, Sant Dnyaneshwar Society, Mankapur, Shivshankar Jatashankar Mishra (32), in his compliant to police said that his brother Akash Mishra had gone to a roadside eatery at Faras Square, near Neelkamal Hotel opposite Prince Paan Palace around 5.40 pm on Friday. While Akash was eating, one of the accused Bahuriksingh Asaram Chandel (65), resident of Plot No. 2, Maa Jagdamba Nagari, near Collector Colony, Godhni Railway, started sweeping area in front of his paan thela with a broom.

Akash asked Bahuriksingh to sweep after he finished his nashta. However, instead of heeding to Akash’s request, the accused Bahuriksingh hurled abuses and asked Akash to go somewhere else and eat. Offended by the abusing, someone at the spot phoned Akash’s brother Shivshankar and informed him about the incident.

Shivshankar immediately came to the spot and tried to prevail on accused Bahuriksingh. But instead of the matter getting settled, son of Bahuriksingh, Vijendra alias Guddu Chandel (32) came there with a sword and a spade and attacked Shivshankar and his father with the intention of killing them.

Mankapur ASI Padmakar Dhurve registered a case against the accused father-son duo under Sections 307, 34 of the IPC and placed them under arrest. Further probe is underway.
