Nagpur: A father-son duo was killed on the spot while a woman was injured seriously when the two-wheeler they were riding in was rammed by a truck near HP Petrol Pump on Bhandara Road here omn Wednesday afternoon.
According to police, the victims Waman Meshram (52), his son Aman (13) and wife Babita (40), all residents of Kailash Nagar, were going to Aman’s school as his result was declared on Wednesday. When the family reached near HP Petrol Pump on Bhandara Road at about 12.30 pm, a recklessly driven truck rammed their two-wheeler with forceful impact. As a result, the three fell on the road Unfortunately, Waman and Aman came under the wheels of the truck and were crushed to death on the spot while Babita suffered serious injuries. She was rushed to a nearby hospital.
The senseless truck driver along with vehicle fled the spot without bothering about the fate of the three victims. On being informed, Kalamna PSI Rathod and his team rushed to the spot and controlled the mob of people that had gathered there. The cops sent bodies of Waman and Aman to a government hospital for post-mortem. In the evening, the father-son duo was cremated by teary eyed residents of Kailash Nagar.
