Nagpur: A father-son duo was assaulted with sword by four goons over a trivial issue of bike headlight focus in Pachpaoli area here on Monday night.

According to police, the complainant, Praful Mukund Gaekwad (15), resident of Ashok Nagar, near Ram Manohar Lohiya Library, returned home by a friend’s motorcycle around 11.45 pm on Monday. The headlight focus of Praful’s bike irritated the four accused namely Rahul Meenbahadur Thakur (22) of Jaibhole Nagar, Binaki Mangalwari, Ankit Santosh Narwade (20) of Yadav Nagar, Rani Durgawati Square, Goldie Chhaya and their one accomplice and they picked up a quarrel with Praful. As the accused started thrashing him, Praful shouted and called his father. As the father came out of house, the accused goons whipped out a sword and attacked Praful and his father injuring them on fingers and other parts of body. The accused even smashed Praful’s head on an electric pole causing injury to him. After the incident, the accused fled the spot.

Pachpaoli PSI Chavan has booked the four accused under Sections 326, 34 of the IPC and searching for them.
