Father-son duo attacked murderously over petty issue in Lakadganj; no arrests

Nagpur: A father-son duo, running a chicken center, was attacked murderously over a petty issue by two hooligans in Lakdganj area on Wednesday night. No arrests have been made in this connection.

The victims, Haji Mohammed Kalam Mohd Hanif (75) and his son Mohammed Arif, residents of Kumbharpura, run Honey Chicken Center at Azamshaha Square in Lakadganj. On Wednesday, around 7.30 pm, the father-son duo was at their chicken center and doing business as usual. At the same time, the two accused goons named Sheikh Azin Sheikh Ismael (47) and Sheikh Mohsin Sheikh Anees (19), both residents of Azamshaha Square, arrived at Honey Chicken Center and started quarrelling with Haji Mohammed Kalam and his son Mohammed Arif. The accused asked them for reason behind spitting after seeing them. The small looking issue turned serious when the two accused attacked Mohammed Arif with ‘sattur’ (big curved knife) and inflicted stab injuries on him. Seeing his son in grave danger, Haji Mohammed Kalam Mohd Hanif rushed to save him. But the accused attacked him, too. The intention of accused was to eliminate the father-son duo.

Lakadganj police, on the basis of Haji Mohammed Kalam’s statement, booked the two accused Sheikh Azin Sheikh Ismael and Sheikh Mohsin Sheikh Anees under attempt to murder charge and investigating the matter further.
