Family “invites” burglars with open door, “hands over” booty worth Rs 1.93 lakh in Nagpur

Nagpur News: A family “invited” burglars in their residence and “handed over” bounty worth Rs 1.93 lakh. The incident occurred in the Hudkeshwar Police Station jurisdiction.

According to police, Ravi Podole, a resident of Ladekar Layout, had gone to Ajni Railway Station to pick up his wife at about 8 pm, his son was talking to his friends near his house and his daughter was watching TV in the main hall. However, the entry door was wide open. Some burglar or burglars took the advantage of the open door and entered in the house and straightaway went to the almirah and grabbed the bounty consisting of gold and silver jewellery and cash valued at Rs 1.93 lakh and decamped from the spot without noticed by the family members of Ravi Padole and other neighbours. But when Ravi Padole returned home, he and the family members noticed the burglary.

Ravi Padole has lodged a complaint with the police who have booked the unidentified thieves under relevant sections of IPC and have launched a hunt for the burglars.
