On May 15 around 7-30 in the morning, the complainant, Vasant Raghunath Raipurkar, 81, a resident of, 127, Surendranagar was taking morning walk on RPTS road. At this time two unknown persons in the age group of 40-45 approached him they identified themselves as police personnel. They told the complainant that many ornament thefts are taking place in the area and therefore he should pocket the gold ring he was wearing. On this the complainant handed over the ring to them, who pretending to wrap it in a paper and complainant’s kerchief went away from the spot.
When after some time the complainant checked he found the ring missing. On the report of the complainant, Dhantoli police have registered offence under sections 170, 420,34 of IPC. Police sub-inspector, Shree Rao is investigating into the matter.
