Ambazari police bust cricket-betting racket

Nagpur News : On the information received on May 14, Ambazari police laid a trap at the house of Sudhir Shivdas Bondre, 34, at Sanjay Nagar, Pandharabodi and raided the house. During the raid, Sudhir and his friend Alpesh Vallabhdas Meshwania, 42, a resident of, Nababpura, Nagpur were found accepting bets  for Mumbai Indians vs Kolkata Night Riders match.

Police have recovered, baiting paper, two registers, calculator, 3 mobile handsets and cash of Rs 61,985/ collectively valued at Rs 67,095/ Ambazari police have registered offence under section 4,5 of Mumbai Gambling Act.

The proceedings were carried out by senior police inspector, Anil Katkade, police sub-inspector Anil Sanap, police constable Raju Manekar, police constable Ravindra Barai and Rajendra Borate under the guidance of Assistant commissioner of police, Abhinash Kumar.
