Faiz Fazal scored his sixth first class hundred to keep Vidarbha in hunt for innings lead against Odhisha on Day 3 of Ranji Trophy group ‘A’ league tie here at Jamtha Cricket Stadium of Vidarbha Cricket Association on Saturday.
Faiz batted for more than six and a hald hour to score 124 runs in 296 balls which contained 16 fours. Vidarbah are 254 runs behind Odisha’s score of 453 for 6. Resuming at their overnight total 14 for 2, Faiz Fazal showed great patience and application and added 100 runs for the third wicket with skipper Shalabh Shrivastava.
Shalabh Shrivastava and Faiz Fazal negated the testing Odisha bowling with equal patience. They neede to see off the new ball which they did it wit hperfection. Vidarbha did not lose a single wicket in the crucial morning session. A dreadful mix up, however, saw the end of the skipper Shalabh Shrivastava’s innings. That, howerver, did not have any affect on Faiz Fazal, who continued to concentrate on the job.
Faiz stiched together an unbroken 85-runs stand off for the fourth wicket with Hemang Badhani to see off the day.
