Eye Donation awareness and check up camp held at Old Age Home Untakhana

Eye Donation Awareness camp
Nagpur: In the course of our 30th Annual Eye Donation Fortnight “Pandharvada”, The Ophthalmology (Eye Department) of Government Medical College, Nagpur organized a camp at Old Age Home Untakhana under the guidance of Professor and Head of the Department Dr Ashok Madan for routine eye examination, spectacle correction, diagnosis and treatment of common eye ailments August 30, 2015.

In view of their Eye Donation fortnight, the Ophthalmology Department of Government Medical College, Nagpur with Dedication of Dr. Snehal Bonde and a team of doctors including Dr. Supriya Sute, Dr. Sunil Bhad, Dr. Shikant Sonavane, Dr. Ulhas Meshram, Dr. Kaushik Ibadwe, Dr. Ujjawal Solanki, this camp was made possible.

Dr. Snehal Bonde led a team of doctors including Dr. Supriya Sute, Dr. Sunil Bhad, Dr. Shikant Sonavane, Dr. Ulhas Meshram, Dr. Kaushik Ibadwe, Dr. Ujjawal Solanki.

Around 55 people took part in this camp and were diagnosed with various eye diseases such as Cataract, Corneal Opacities, Refractive errors, Squint, Pterygium, Conjuntivitis and were treated for the same. Patients diagnosed with cataract were referred to Government Medical Hospital, Nagpur for free operative treatment. Patients with corneal opacities were referred to GMCH for Keratoplasty (corneal transplantation). Spectacle correction was given for best visual outcome. An awareness about eye donation was also given to the inmates during this camp.

The team of doctors worked hard to make this event successful.
