Nagpur: Tirpude Institute of Management Education organizes Erudition every year, wherein management students from several colleges come together and compete with each other to exhibit their talents. It provides a perfect platform to the students to improve their managerial competence. The judges are invited from the Industry to help the students gain inputs on current trends in different management areas. Experiential Learning is the main idea on which the entire event is based.

The events are industry oriented and the tasks given to the participants allow them to get a feel of the corporate world. It can also be called a demo exercise wherein participants from over 50 colleges in and around Nagpur get to exhibit and hone their skills and develop special insights on to how to handle some real business situations.

The event was inaugurated on 24th February, 2016 at 10:00am at the hands of students from different colleges. The competitions were then introduced by respective student event directors. This was followed by an expert session by renowned entrepreneurs Meeka Kale and Sumit Paliwal, TIME alumnus. It was an interactive session with the students wherein these entrepreneurs shared their success story and hurdles faced by them so far in business.

Renowned Entrepreneur Meeka Kale said that “When thinking of entrepreneurship, one should get into an area where there is a gap. She believes that “Customer is the King” and goes by that. She also expressed that for success of any business Quality and pricing has to be matched with customer base. 

Renowned Entrepreneur Sumit Paliwal while speaking to the students during the expert session said that Entrepreneurship is not an easy task; it involves a lot of struggle. He respects ‘Snapdeal’ and ‘Ola Cabs’ the most – These entrepreneurs had no money but had great ideas. Sumit also felt that the most important aspect in business is funding – where to get the money from?

The first event was Incredible India- Credible Youth (Business Plan), wherein students from various colleges discussed their plans on various parameters. Business plans were related to Food-night, Audiovisual alarm, Aqua proof water proofing, food-chain and many more.

Tirpude’s Spot Coms’- a Spot event was conducted. Under this various events like Poster making, Slogan writing and quiz contest were held to mark ‘Road Safety Awareness’. This event was specially introduced this year to encourage youth to follow traffic rules to make them aware of road signs and to support road traffic legislation in making people wear helmet and seat belts while driving. 40 Participated from various management colleges for this.

The second event was ‘Investomania’ (virtual trading competition) , where the students were allotted virtual money of Rs.15,00,000 each. The students did online trading. The students had to earn the highest net worth at the end of the trading day. 24 teams with 2 members each from various colleges participated and enjoyed the event thoroughly.

The third event was elimination of Shadow-a-CEO – the participants were given an opportunity to spend one day with the biggest CEO’s of central India and experience their heroic struggle against odds, survival, and the story behind their journey to the top.

The event was judged by Assistant Manager of Media solutions,Nagpur Times Aditi Sharma, Leading Entrepreneur and TIME alumnus Manish Khungar and Professor Prashant Rajurkar.

The events of the 2nd day were:

  1. Expert session by CEO of Shells Advertising Agency Sanjay Arora. He spoke on ‘Use & Abuse of Social Media’ at 9:30am.

  3. Shadow a CEO- Biz Quiz (Final round)
  4. Why Should I Hire You? – Mock Interview Competition.
  5. Valedictory and Prize Distribution
