Nagpur: “The agreement with the electricity distribution franchisee Spanco was the policy of the earlier government. However, our government will not cancel this agreement directly. But, it is necessary the franchisee follow the rules as per the agreement. The government on the complaints of the citizens has formed a fact-finding committee, the report of which will come whithin 15 days.”
said State energy and guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, while talking to the media at Hyderabad House on Saturday.
Bawankule further indicating said that if the fact-finding report suggests something wrong then action will taken accordingly. If the franchisee does not improve even then, then action will be taken as per the rules.
The city electricity distribution franchisee is sending wrong SMSes to the consumers. This newspaper had published about this and drawn the attention of the government towards it. Speaking on this Bawankule said that the franchisee has to follow the memorandum of understanding (MoU), this also includes SMS services also.
The work of the franchisee is not satisfactory. The work at aurangabad is stalled and there are many complaints at Nagpur as well. That is why the government has formed a fact-finding committee to find out the real causes into the issue. The work of the committee is almost on completion.
