Encroachments near East Gate of Railway Station removed

Nagpur: The Enforcement Squad of Nagpur Municipal Corporation on Wednesday morning carried out anti-encroachment operation at East Gate of Railway Station and seized truck loads of material.

The anti-encroachment drive, led by Ward Officer Ashok Patil, cracked down on roadside shops and removed several temporary constructions that were affecting the smooth flow of vehicular traffic.

According to Patil, those encroachers who were removing their stuff on their own were given chance to do it. And the remaining encroachments were removed by the NMC department. The encroachers were issued notices several times to vacate the area but they failed to do so. Finally, NMC decided to act tough and launched a drive on Wednesday morning and removed the encroachments with the help of police. The illegal roadside shops from Cotton Market to Santra Market faced the bulldozer.

Truck loads of material was seized and fines were also slapped on the encroachers.
