Employees’ representation on cooperative societies increased

Maharashtra Cooperative Societies Act-1960, Clause 73-A (2) amended

Nagpur: Making necessary amendment in Maharashtra State Cooperative Societies Act-1960, the state government in its cabinet meeting held on Tuesday took a decision that in case the government’s share capital is there in any cooperative society and its board of directors exceeds more than 17 members there shall be posted two representative employees of society on the board of directors, instead of keeping one representative employee on board as an earlier practice.

The Clause 73 A (2) is accordingly amended.
