Nagpur: “Reservation is part of the Constitution and nobody can alter this structure,” declared former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Sanghapriya Gautam. According to Gautam, the provision of reservation has been incorporated in the Constitution and it cannot be changed at any cost. “Thorough debates are being held across the nation after the RSS chief advocated review of reservation policy.

Eralier also, whenever BJP comes into power such issues are raised. Even when Atal Behari Vajpayee was Prime Minister the issue of review of reservation policy was raised. A Committee under the presidentship of the then Human Resource Development Minister Murli Manohar Joshi was set up to review the the quota policy as it had completed more than 40 years even after Independence.

The Committee had ruled that the reservation was a necessity and recommended continuation of the policy,” stated Sanghapriya Gautam. He exuded confidence that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not scrap the reservation and squarely blamed RSS chief’s statement on quota policy review for party’s debacle in Bihar elections.

Gautam further said that the status of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar should be raised on par with the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi. Dr Ambedkar aws architect of Indian Constitution and his contribution was unparalleled. The raise in status will draw tourist from all over the world, asserted the BJP leader.
