Nagpur: A duty-bound woman was attacked by a sword-wielding unidentified youth in Bharatnagar area here on Tuesday night. The woman received grievous injury on her head and is being treated at a private hospital. Cops have launched a hunt to nab the assaulter.
The complainant Manoj Sahu, resident of Vijay Nagar, told police that his wife Kiran Sahu (40) was going to her office on Tuesday night and was standing near Kirti Restaurant in Bharatnagar for auto. At the same time, the accused unidentified youth around 25 years of age came there and gagged Kiran. Even before she could free herself from clutches of the youth, he attacked her with a sword and inflicted deep injury on head. After the attack, the accused youth fled the spot. The profusely bleeding Kiran was rushed to a hospital where she is being treated for head injury.
Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC and launched a hunt to nab the assaulter.
