Pachgaon: With the aim of promoting women’s health awareness and educating young girls about breast cancer, the DTC Foundation organised a special awareness campaign at Zilla Parishad School in Pachgaon on the occasion of National Cancer Awareness Day, observed on November 7.
The initiative focused on spreading accurate information about breast cancer, its early symptoms, possible causes, timely screening and essential health precautions.
The programme was presided over by Village Head Chetan Fating. DTC Foundation volunteers Dimple Narnavare, Sanchita Somkuwar, Ashish Wasankar and Yash Somkuwar were present. School Headmaster Gajanan Motghare and teachers Savita Dhawale, Prabha Shirpure and Varsha Randhari also attended.
During the programme, DTC Foundation Secretary Akanksha Somkuwar guided the schoolgirls on various aspects of breast cancer, highlighting the importance of early detection, timely medical consultation and regular health check-ups.
An interactive session was also organised, during which students openly raised their questions and concerns about the disease. Akanksha Somkuwar addressed their queries in simple and understandable language, helping dispel misconceptions and encouraging the girls to become more conscious about their health.
The campaign highlighted an important message: Timely awareness, accurate information and prompt medical screening are essential steps in the fight against cancer.
Speaking on the occasion, DTC Foundation President Akash Meshram said the initiative would not remain limited to a single school. The Foundation plans to organise similar awareness programmes on a larger scale in Zilla Parishad schools, colleges and rural areas.
He emphasised that the Foundation’s primary objective is to ensure that accurate health-related information reaches every section of society through awareness and educational initiatives.
