Nagpur: In a distressing incident reported from Iritola village in Gondia district a drunkard man killed his wife who was working as a principal at village school, with an axe on Tuesday morning. The school which comprise classrooms from std I to std V was full with students when the incident occurred, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Pratibha Dongre (50) whereas accused identified as Dilip Dongre is reportedly absconding.
According to police, Dilip approached the school at around 11:30 am with an axe and sneaked inside principal’s cabin. As soon as he saw Pratibha, he started hitting blows on her neck. Listening to her screams, other teachers rushed to principal’s cabin. However, till then Dilip fled the spot leaving his wife laying in the pool of blood. Pratibha succumbed to her severe injuries on the spot. Following which teachers alerted local police.
According to sources, annoyed due to Dilip’s habit of drinking Pratibha ended her relation with him and was living with her two daughters in Datora village. She would travel 3 kms daily to reach school and despite being principal of the school she used to teach classes.
In the meantime cops have registered an offence of murder against Dilip and launched the manhunt.
