Dreaded politician- criminal Arun Gawli shifted to Nagpur Jail

Nagpur News: Arun Gawli, accused of having paid for the murder of Shiv Sena Corporator Kamlakar Jamsandekar, has been shifted from Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail to Nagpur Central Jain, according to reliable sources. Gawli had been accused of paying Rs. 30Lakh to his men for the murder, over a piece of land. He was arrested in May 2008, having been convicted by a special MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Criminal Act) court. The Court also found 11 others guilty for the killing. Three others of Gawli’s gang were acquitted, while another accused Sadashiv Surve died this July. Jamsandekar was shot dead at his residence in suburban Ghatkopar. Since his arrest, Gawli has constantly been shifted to different jails across the state. A few more cases of extortion are pending against him.
