Nagpur: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has appealed party leaders, workers and well-wishers to contribute handsomely towards Jalyukt Shivar Campaign instead of putting hoardings, banners and advertisements on the occasion of his birthday. The Chief Minister’s birthday is celebrated on July 22.
The day Fadnavis took the reins of Chief Minister of Maharashtra, he had announced the ambitious Jalyukt Shivar scheme to turn 24,000 villages drought free. The scheme received an overwhelming response from all quarters and the positive results have started to show its effects. The scheme which will decide the future of State was appreciated all over the country. The Jalyukt Shivar Campaign has not remained a Government scheme only but took the shape of a people’s movement.
Last year too, the Chief Minister had issued an appeal not to celebrated his birthday but contribute enormously for the cause of Jalyukt Shivar Campaign. As a result, the campaign received an overwhelming response and continues till to date. The funds of the scheme are being utilized to make hundreds of villages drought free.
