Lucknow: Sadhna Yadav, Mulayam Singh’s wife, breaks her silence in the aftermath of the family dispute. “I don’t know who misled Akhilesh. He respects Netaji and me a lot. A Chief Secretary was transferred; people said I was behind it. It’s false, though I wish I was so powerful.”
Mulayam and Sadhna have a son, Prateek, who was born in 1988. Prateek is believed to be uninterested in politics, but many blame Sadhna for the recent developments pitting Mulayam against his eldest son Akhilesh.
Samajawdi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav has asserted that there was “no dispute” with son Akhilesh. When asked about the ongoing tussle within the family and party, Mulayam said, “There is no rift between me and my son Akhilesh Yadav.” Mulayam, however, blamed Ram Gopal Yadav for present crisis in the party. “My son is being provoked by one person,” Mulayam said, without naming Ram Gopal Yadav.
