Bad news for all those pizza lovers desperately awaiting the delivery boys to bring the hot smacking Domino’s pizzas at their door step, thanks to Nagpur Road Transport Office which banned the delivery bikes fitted with spacious dicky to accommodate your binges. RTO officials said it is illegal to use a personal vehicle for commercial use. The two wheelers are being used by the company for home delivery of pizzas to the costumers. The company in order to sync in with its business has added the tagline –‘Khushiyon ki home delivery’ for its Indian venture. Officials said one cannot use private vehicle for commercial use hence it is banned to use Pizza Dicky. Taking immediate action RTO fined the vehicles whom RTO found delivering pizzas using the Pizza Dicky. The company has to fill alteration form immediately to continue using these bikes for delivering pizza.
Vijay Chauhan, Deputy, RTO, Nagpur Division told Nagpur Today that “Domino’s was using the motorcycle which comes under private use of vehicles for commercial benefits which is illegal. Therefore, RTO has banned the motorbikes of Dominos having dicky for keeping Pizzas for delivery”. Chauhan added that one has to follow few rules and have to complete few compulsory formalities with RTO for commercial transportation, which the company was not following.

He said that for commercial use one needs to register the vehicle for transport purpose and will get yellow number plate instead of white which is given to the vehicles for personal use. All the bikes which the company is using for pizza delivery are having non transport license and having white number plate. Further Chauhan added that driver riding these transport vehicles should have Transport license but no rider of these pizza delivery bikes have the same. He said that these transport vehicles have to take fitness certificate every year but as the company did not register the pizza delivery vehicles under transport vehicle the company is not following any rules and regulations.

Talking to Nagpur Today, an executive from Domino’s Pizza informed that till further development, Domino’s has removed the boxes from all of its delivery bikes. “Now the hot bags which were kept in boxes are carried along on the vehicle. We are still delivering the same. Our delivery boys are carrying the orders in the hot bags now,” she added.
