Fire at India Overseas Bank office in Ramdaspeth causes property loss

Panic gripped people when the Ramdaspeth branch office of Indian Overseas Bank caught fire early Thursday morning. After battling with flames for hours, fire fighters could control the blaze.

The fire officials said that AC, siren, and electronic gadgets have turned to ashes but luckily no casualty was recorded. As per fire officials, the fire broke when the bank was yet to be opened, thus, not many people were present in the bank premises. Bank Manager S K Ghosh and other staff members rushed to the office after receiving the information.

One fire tender was called to the spot that succeeded in controlling the flames within time. The officials said that the Bank, situated near Kalpana building, Ramdaspeth caught fire early Thursday morning at 8.22 am. The reason, officials said, could be short circuit.

Sitabuldi police also reached the spot on time and started their investigations.
