Mumbai: All three accused doctors in the Dr Payal Tadvi suicide case have been granted bail by the Bombay High Court. Dr Payal Tadvi hung herself in the hostel room of BYL Nair Hospital in Mumbai in May and the three doctors were accused of abetting suicide.

Tadvi, 26, a second-year postgraduate medical student attached to BYL Nair Hospital, killed herself on May 22 after regularly being ragged by her seniors. She was also subjected to casteist abuses hurled at her by the three doctors.

Tadvi belonged to a Scheduled Tribe (ST) community.

The three senior doctors, Hema Ahuja, Ankita Khandelwal and Bhakti Meher have been granted bail in the case.

The three will have to submit a bond of Rs 2 lakh and appear before the crime branch every alternate day. They will also not be allowed to go inside the Nair Hospital.

The accused trio had moved the high court after a special court rejected their bail pleas on June 24.
