et00049208Nagpur: With two major incident which occurred among drunken youth in the posh Dharampeth area still fresh, organizing an event for youth with liquor flowing freely is surely an open invitation to trouble.

Sources revealed that both the incidents which resulted in firing in one incident and a murder in the second were caused because of youth teasing young girls who were enjoying liquor. Well Nagpur Today does not want to sound judgmental or display male chauvinism, but when cotton is taken near fire, it is obviously going to catch fire.

Young men would or could lose control over their sense of decency and misbehave with the girls and women. The chivalry of their partners demands that they fight for their female partners. This often results in major clashes, which may pour out onto the roads too.

The Bouncers by definition are trained muscular guards with a good built. They are trained to handle crowds when they escort celebrities. Bouncers are also hired by bars to throw out unruly patrons.

However, the Bouncers which the organizers in the city hire are bodybuilders who are not necessarily trained to handle crowds and often lose their cool and end up bashing up the patrons or over-enthusiastic fans and youth. Is there some mechanism with the city police to register these bouncers and ensure that they are trained to handle the crowds and manage the youth without physical assault or minimal physical interference?

An event titled “Dance Fusion” is being organized in a city hotel by Skylevel Entertainments allegedly based in Mumbai. The event will be featuring Resident DJ Tejas and DJ Shilpi Sharma from Mumbai. The event is slated to be organized on November 27, 2016.

When Nagpur Today contacted the organizer, the following details were furnished :
Entry of Couples is free of cost: Entry of Girls is free
Cost of Stag is slated to cost Rs 1000 which has Rs 500 as cover
Entry of Very Important Personalities (VIP) is slated to be Rs 2500 which includes Rs 1000 as cover.
One would wonder what this cover is meant. Well the cover simply means that those stags or VIPs who pay Rs 1000 or Rs 2500 will get coupons worth Rs 500 or Rs 1000 respectively to buy liquor.

When Nagpur Today contacted the in-charge of Sitabuldi Police Station Senior Police Inspector Bandiwar, he verified from their Detective Branch and Special Branch officials and confirmed that the organizers are yet to approach the Police Station (under which jurisdiction the event is slated to be organized) for due permissions.

Even if the organizers obtain a one day permission from the State Excise department, they have not got due permissions from the Police Station. Sources claimed that Senior Police Inspector Bandiwar has directed his officials to deny permissions for the event since the organizers have not yet received the permissions even on the eve of the function.
