Nagpur: On the basis of first innings lead District XI defeated Ruby Sporting Club (RSC) to emerge champions in Inter Club Cricket Tournament organised by Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) at Civil Lines Stadium.
In their first innings District XI scored 227 for nine in 60 overs. However, RSC were bundled out for a paltry 95 and thus conceded 132-run lead to District XI. Resuming on 49 for three, District XI made 205 for eight and thus put on 338 run winning target before RSC. Nayan Chavan made unbeaten 50 hitting five boundaries and one six. David Sahare also batted well and scored 47. Darshan remained not out on 34. For RSC, Parth Sagdeo claimed three wickets. Chasing 338, RSC made 77 for three in 19 overs before both the captains agreed for a draw. On the basis of first innings lead DistrictXI were declared champion. For RSC, Unnikrishnan scored 34 while Sandip Rawat contributed 26.
