Nagpur: Unidentified persons on Thursday morning assaulted District Convener of Bajrang Dal Jairaj Naidu and his brother Santosh Naidu. The brother duo reportedly was injured in the attack that took place near Ruiganj Maidan in Kamptee. As soon as the news of the assault reached the activists of Bajrang Dal, they reached the police station and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
A land dispute could the reason behind the attack, sources said.
According to police, the Kamptee-based Naidu brothers run a gymnasium near Ruiganj Maidan and were at the place in the morning. At the same time, some unidentified youths accosted and attacked them. As the news of the incident spread, activists of Bajrang Dal as well as police reached the spot. The injured Naidu brothers were taken to a hospital. A large number of activists and supporters gathered at the Kamptee Police Station and demanded arrest of assaulters immediately.
Cops have launched an investigation and had not made arrest in the case till the filing of this report.
