The release of the week ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ though was assumed to hit the box office hard, on its first day however it managed to mint a little more than Rs 10 crore, the expectations being more for the super release!
The box office tables have turned too good for Bollywood. After Piku and Tanu Weds Manu Returns, this film has managed a decent collection on the first day.
The film starring Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Farhan Akhtar, Priyanka Chopra, Anushka Sharma and Shefali Shah opened to mixed reviews on June 5.
A few have claimed that the release is an overly caramelized family drama that strives hard to strike a balance between the sly and the syrupy.
Dil Dhadakne Do will also be screened at the ongoing International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards on June 6. The entire star cast along with director Zoya Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani are currently in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the event.
