Dharampeth Mahila Multistate Co-op Society inaugurates its 30th branch in Bajaj Nagar

The Dharampeth Mahila Multistate Co-operative Society opened its 30th branch at Bajaj Nagar on December 6, 2014. The Society aims to increase the branch network to 40 branches up to March 2015.

Prominent homoeopath Dr Vilas Dangre inaugurated the new branch. Dr Vishram Jamdar presided over the function. Pratibha Pande and Dr Pareenita  Fukey were the chief guests.

The society initially started with 40 women having “Bhisi”, grew steadily over the last 20 years and has been showing profits since its inception. The institution has at present network of 30 branches. The Society is of Multistate Status having branches in Maharashtra , Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.

The salient feature of the Society is that it is run only by women. The board of directors includes all Lady Directors headed by Sarika Pendse who is well known personality in social activities. The Vice-President is Nilima Bawane who is most active in co-operative sector.

The society has fully computerized all its branches and is planning to switch to Core Banking Software very shortly thereby extending the facilities of interconnectivity among all branches.

Director of the Society Nilima Bawane, adrressing the gathering, informed that  Dharampeth Mahila is having business of over Rs. 750 crore and is having No. 1 position in Maharashtra among Mahila Co-operative Societies. The total business of the Society as on March 31, 2014 stood at Rs. 750 crore and it is estimated to reach up to Rs. 1000 crore by the year 2015. The society offers many saving deposit schemes, home loans, two-four wheeler loans and many loan schemes for women.

While addressing the gathering, Dr Vilas Dangre applauded the society’s commendable work continuing from last 20 years. He appreciated that the Dharampeth Mahila Multistate Co-operative Society still going strong, in a scenario where so many cooperative societies going bankrupt and closing down. Dangre wished the Society success in the future.

Dr Vishram Jamdar, speaking on the occasion, praised the efforts of the Dharampeth Society in reaching out to the people with good welfare schemes.

The inauguration was attended by the employees, well wishers and the residents of Bajaj Nagar.
