Dhantoli police arrest Lok Sabha candidate of Gondwana Party, Rammurti Chimote in fraud case

Nagpur News : Loksabha candidate Rammurti Chimote from Gondwana Party was arrested by Dhantoli police on Saturday for his alleged involvement in a fraud case registered four months before. Chimote, a resident of Subhash Nagar, was produced in the district court on Saturday.

The complaint was filed by property dealer Shankar Gade, a resident of Kukde Layout on January 27 this year. On Gade’s complaint, police had four people, including a woman, for duping cash Rs 4.20 lakh.

Anil Jain, Arvindkumar Jain, Deepak Shravan Shendre and an unidentified woman were slapped for fraud charges and other relevant sections of IPC. Cops informed that the Jain along with other two had finalized the agreement of 2700 sq ft at flat No. 8, Mouja Chinch Bhavan Manav Shakti Grihnirman Sanstha in Rs 16 lakh with Gadhe (45).

The flat originally belonged to Pramila Rajendra Dhok who died long ago. However, Jain and his accomplices showed bogus election card of Dhok and fake ducoemtns before Gade. They even produced another woman in the name of Dhok while finalizing the property deal. Gade claimed that he paid Rs 4.20 lakh as the first instalment and Shankar agreed to pay the rest money after registration of the flat to his name.

However, the accused started avoiding Shankar after receiving the money. Soon Shankar realised the fraud and lodged a complaint with Dhantoli police station.

Police told that Chimote’s name came fore in the case for his alleged involvement in settling down the fraud case. Cops informed that it was learnt during investigation of the case that Chimote has helped all accused to withdraw the charged against them. Sources informed that he have demanded thousands of rupees from Jain to help them.

Chimote was produced in the court on Saturday.
