Dewang Mehta National Education Awards in Mumbai
Nagpur: Dr Nitin Gupta, Professor – Marketing, at IMT Hyderabad was awarded Best Faculty in Marketing at the 25th Business School Affaire & Dewang Mehta National Education Award 2017 recently held at the Taj Lands End, Mumbai.

Among the other eminent faculties who were awarded in various categories of their respective expertise were Dr Vandana Tandon Khanna, K J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research (SIMSR) received ‘The Best Professor in Marketing and International Business’ while Prof. Barkha Jadwani, Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute Of Management Studies And Research received ‘Best Professor in Finance’. Best Teacher Award went to Prof Sangeeta Wats Associate Professor, School Of Business Management NMIMS, Mumbai.

The awards are named after the late Dewang Mehta who played a critical role in establishing India as information technology power. Being, the President of Nasscom, he had a blueprint for the IT industry and knew how it could be used effectively to change the lives of Indians. His favourite slogan, “Roti, Kapada, Makan, Bijli and Bandwidth” epitomized the needs of the emerging, 21st century Indian.

Dewang Mehta Foundation Trust (DMFT) was formed by Kailash J Thaker representing the family members of Dewang Mehta and Harish S Mehta, co-founder of NASSCOM, representing Dewang’s innumerable friends from the IT industry. They were subsequently joined by Sangeeta Gupta, Vice-President of NASSCOM and other co-founders of NASSCOM, K V Ramani and P Sriganesh as Trustees. The Trust is ably assisted by Ashwin Bhatt, a family member of Dewang Mehta’s family.
