Nagpur: In what could be mentioned as a daring act of goons, the cops of Lakhadganj seized a Desi Katta (Country-made pistol) from three motorbike borne goons on April 23, 2016.
According to police sources, the Lakhadganj Police received a secret tip off that three goons in the age group of 20-25 years, riding a motorcycle (triples) with no number-plate on the front and the rear are moving in a suspicious manner in Ganga-Jamuna red-light area in the city on April 23, 2016. The tip off also said that, the goons possess a Desi Katta (Country-made pistol).
Armed with this information, the cops of Lakhadganj Police Station laid a trap for the goons on the cement road of Ganga-Jamuna red-light area. Soon the cops noticed the three goons riding a motorcycle (triples) with no number-plate approaching them.
However, as soon as the goons spotted the cops, they tried to escape, but the cops chased them and caught all the three goons. On physical frisking, the cops found a Desi Katta (Country-made pistol), some gold chains, mobiles and cash in all worth Rs 58370/- (Rupees Fifty eight thousand three hundred and seventy) on them.
On preliminary questioning, the cops found out that the goons were residents of Chhindwada in Madhya Pradesh.
Till the time of filing the story, the cops are assuming that the three goons must have come to commit a major crime in the city.
The three goons are identified as
- Vishwanath alias Helen Rambharose Verma aged 23 years and a resident of Hiwra Kala Churahi, District Chhindwara.
- Dinesh Nirbhayram Verma aged 22 years and a resident of Devri Kala Taluka Churahi, District Chindwara, Madhya Pradesh and
- Mukesh Shriram Verma aged 30 years and a resident of Khutpipriya, Taluka Chaurahi, District Chindwara. The present address of Mukesh is said to be Tembri, Butibori, C/o Ravi Kawre, Nagpur.
The Investigation Officer in this case is said to be Police Sub Inspector N R Analdas of Lakhadganj Police Station. A case has been registered against the goons under Case No 3482/16 under Sections 3 + 25 of Arms Act, Sub Section 135 of Indian Penal Code. All the three goons were arrested.
The above action was conducted under the able guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-3) Abhinash Kumar, Assistant Commissioner of Police N M Pande and In-Charge of Lakhadganj Police Station, Senior Police Inspector Satyawan Mane, Assistant Police Inspector D D Nile, Police Sub Inspector N R Analdas, Head Constable Vasantha Kankandhade, Naik Police Constable Naresh Badel, Manoj Neware, Shyam Argutalewar, Praveen Ganar, Police Constable Gopal Thote, Ratnakar Meshram, Rajesh Pokle and DB Squad.
