Deshmukh, Pandit, Gandhe to officiate in IPL

Nagpur’s BCCI panel umpires—Abhijeet Deshmukh, Nitin Pandit and Ulhas Gandhe— have been assigned matches in the forth coming Indian Premier League tournament which begins April 7. All the three city umpires have loads of experience of officiating in List A and international women’s matches. Deshmukh,who recently worked with Cricket Australia in Australia under the umpires exchange programme, will be officiating in eight matches (6on-fieldandtwoas 3rd umpire). Deshmukh has officiated in IPL last season also and has an experience of around 50 First-Class matches including Irani Trophy.

Nitin Pandit will be officiating in 10 IPL matches this season. Pandit was umpire for the recently concluded India women vs Austrilia women One-Day series. Pandithas also officiated in India vs South Africa women’s Test match, India vs Sri Lanka T20 matches. He has an experience of stanting in 42 First-Class matches including Duleep Trophy.

Similarly, Ulhas Gandhe, a former Vidarbha Ranji Trophy player,will be officiating in nine matches this IPL.In2014-15, he had officiated in four IPL ties. He was umpire for the Women’s triangular T20 series between India, England and Austrilia in Mumbai. Gandhe has officiated in 48 Ranji Trophy matches.
