Nagpur: Amazon – the renowned online market place, liked by millions of consumers across India for its flexible return policy and genuine products, has been duped of Rs 7.63 lakh in Nagpur by none other than its own delivery boys. The accused delivery boys would replace the orders cancelled or returned by the customers and pack other goods back to the company.

Ganeshpeth police have registered the case of fraud against the accused Akash Govindrao Nimje, 24, resident of Panchpaoli, Naresh Kadu, 32, Jaripatka, Yashwant Shikharam Dharmik, 21, Rupesh Sudhakar Sawarkat, 25, Itwari and Harshal Jageshwar Atram, 25, resident of Panchpaoli.

These accused were working with a logistic company Dependo hired by Amazon to deliver ordered products to the customers. Bhojraj Makde, resident of Kalamna is a team leader at Dependo. The accused worked as delivery boys under Makde. As Amazon allows return of ordered products, the accused used to pick the products from customers and allegedly kept those with them. They would send other cheap articles back to Amazon. The fraudulent acts were committed during the period between May 2, 2018 to November 26, 2018. The dubious act came to light after Amazon examined the returned products. Later Makde complained the matter to Ganeshpeth police who registered the crime and was investigating the matter.
