Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are perhaps one of the best jodis that Bollywood has to offer. Their chemistry is loved and highly appreciated by their fans. The two have through their PDA always hinted at being a couple, although neither of them has ever publicly acknowledged it. While that’s that, they have shared screen space in three films together so far —Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani, and Padmaavat—though, they never had any scenes together in the last one. Each of them, has performed wonderful at the Box Office, creating history on their way. However, the three films share a common trend, that of a sad ending. And fans now want to see their favourite couple in a film that has a happy ending, such as that of a romantic comedy or so. Now as if to have their long cherished dream come true, there are reports doing the rounds, that the two may hyst be seen in Aditya Chopra‘s next film together.

Yes, you read just right. A leading entertainment portal reported that a project helmed by Maneesh Sharma, best known for directing Ranveer in Band Baaja Baraat, is all set to direct a film that will feature the DeepVeer, as they are fondly called, in the lead. The movie is yet to be titled and is reportedly expected to go on floors next year. Meanwhile, Ranveer is busy with the shoot of Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy, opposite Alia Bhatt and will soon start work on Rohit Shetty’s Simmba. Deepika, on the other hand, was supposed to start shooting for Vishal Bhardwaj’s next film, opposite Irrfan Khan, which was based on the Mafia Queen, Sapna Didi. However, with Irrfan being diagnosed with a rare neuro disease called, neuroendocrine tumour , the film got indefinitely pushed.

Anyway, going back to the film in question, how excited are you with the prospect of seeing Deepika and Ranveer in a light hearted comedy film for a change? A few months ago, when Deepika was asked the question of doing a film with a happy ending with Ranveer in the future, she was quoted as saying, “I hope so. I really hope so. That’s actually what my family is always telling me. My sister especially and my mother, they are always like ‘do you have to die in every film?’ So yes, I hope that whatever film Ranveer and I do next, that we don’t end our lives in the way that we have and also maybe, a less emotionally draining film. Something just lighter on the heart and on the emotion part of it.”
