Nagpur: A dead leopard found in a farm at village Khandala under Bori gram panchayat of Ramtek tehsil has generated a sense of curiosity and worry among the villagers who crowded in large numbers at the spot. The villagers also informed the police and forest department. The leopard was spotted at around 6 am on Saturday. As the news spread the villagers started flocking towards the spot. The forest department officials along with policemen also turned up and took the corpse for postmortem.
The villagers informed that villagers are distressed with wild boars who often stray into their fields and cause damage to their standing crops. Earlier it was assumed that the leopard might have died due to electric shock as the villagers flowed the current into the fencing to protect their standing crops from wild boars. However sources denied any such chance.
Meanwhile the villagers are now worried about more such wild animals intrusion into their vicinity.
