DCP (Traffic) Tangde initiates tree plantation drive in all police stations on World Forestry Day

Nagpur: Just as any other conscientious citizen, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Bharat Tangde has initiated a tree-plantation drive to observe the World Forestry Day on March 21, 2016 at Police-Stations in the city. While speaking to Nagpur Today, DCP Tangde said that this is a small endeavour to increase the public awareness about the values, significance and contributions of the forests to balance the life cycle on the earth.

While speaking about the initiative of the Traffic Department, he elaborated on how forests play great role in gathering and releasing the water on the earth and maintain the flora and fauna habitat balance. They always fulfill the demands of the human beings by providing shadow, shelter, refreshment including clean air and water. His subject of graduation, i.e. Bachelor of Science (Botany) was amply displayed. He went on to quote Khalil Gibran who said that “Trees are poems that earth writes upon”.

On March 21, 2016 at 17:00 hrs the Traffic Department will be organizing plantation at each Zone and Traffic offices in the city to observe the World Forestry Day.
