Day-6 of NMC’s ‘Disham Mahila Melawa’ sees felicitation of President’s, State Award winners

Nagpur News: The Day-6 of Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) “Disham Mahila Melawa,”  gathering of women entrepreneurs, witnessed felicitation of seven teachers who baggad President’s Best Teacher Awards and Maharashtra Government’s Ideal Teacher Awards. The seven NMC teachers were felicitated by the Chairperson of Education Committee Chetana Tank by offering them Shawls, Shriphals, Mementoes and Bouquets. Those who were present on the dais on this occasion include the Chairperson of Women and Children Welfare Committee Ashvini Jichkar, Social Welfare Officer Sudha Iraskar and other prominent citizens.
The NMC has organized the “Disham Mahila Melawa,”  gathering of women entrepreneurs, as a part of the civic body’s 150th Year Celebrations and the Mahila Melawa was inaugurated by “Dream Girl” and veteran Bollywood actress Hema Malini on last Saturday.
Following are the names of serving and retired teachers of the NMC who received the President’s Best Teacher Awards and State Government’s Ideal Teacher Awards:

3. Anita Gedam Headmistress President’s Award 2013 Serving
4. Suman Laghve Headmistress State Award 1994 Retired
5. Purushottam Hatagade Headmaster State Award 1994 Retired
6. M D Shrikhande Headmaster State Award 1994 Retired
7. Pratibha Lokhande Assistant Teacher Savitribai Fuley    
      State Award    
DANCE PRESENTATION ON FEMALE FOETICIDE THEME:
The Megot Dance Group presented their colourful art by presenting dance on the theme “Female Foeticide” and sent a powerful message across the society. The girl students of Valmiki Nagar Hindi Middle School presented “Adivasi Dance.” The audience enjoyed the programme.
Others who were present on the occasion include Mayor Anil Sole, Chairperson of Education Committee Chetana Tank, Chairperson of Women and Children Welfare Committee Ashvini Jichkar, former Deputy Mayor and Corporator Sunil Agrawal, Social Welfare Officer Sudha Iraskar and other prominent citizens.
